Learn to Play - Academy Golf
Just started to hit the odd golf ball? Played Pitch and Putt? Really liked it? Want to join a golf club but don’t feel good enough?
Well here is your chance whether played a few times or just picking up a club. Join our ‘Learn to play’ membership category at East Brighton’s very own Golf Academy and gain the following:
Our PGA staff will take you on an intensive 6 week course, in this time you will learn the rules of golf and etiquette to a level required at East Brighton Golf Club and improve your golf swing technique to a level ready for playing the course.
Also available:
o Be able to get a handicap, this will enable you to play at all other courses.
o £30.00 free to spend at the club bar
o Unlimited golf (subject to terms and conditions, see beneath or email office@ebgc.co.uk ), this will be once you have passed a Playing and Rules and etiquette test, playing the course will be at first during off peak times (Summer: Monday – Sunday after 13.30,Winter: Monday – Friday after 12 noon, Winter weekends: after 13.00) until upgrading membership to ‘full’ membership.
o Once passed these requirements the PGA Professional will then offer you the chance to upgrade to become a full club member, this will be at a reduced rate depending at what point in the year of the learn to play subscription you are in.
This membership is for a maximum of 12 months all for the superb cost of £399.00. Normally just the cost of the golf lessons would be £150.00, use of the golf course facilities would cost a huge amount if played to the maximum and you get free food and drink up to £30.00 for free as well not bad when the cost of an average green fee is £25.00 these days! But the most important thing is that you become introduced to a friendly welcoming golf club and have your very first Handicap to show off!
Learn to Play Schedule of Training
Week One: 1 Hour
- Giving out syllabus and answering questions regarding the LTP (enc.)
- Understanding the student and their progress so far in Golf
- Payment of LTP Membership
- PGA approved swing building sequence lesson 1 (Aim; Hold, Posture, Stance, Ball Position, Alignment and half swing)
Week Two: ½ Hour
- Swing building sequence lesson 2
- Hand out of Rules and Etiquette questions with answers for Pupil to learn for exam later
Week Three: 1 Hour
- Short game (Chipping, Bunkers and Pitching)
Week Four: ½ Hour
- Full Swing Progression
Week Five: 1 Hour
- Playing The Course
- Rules and Etiquette Test and results
Week Six: ½ Hour
- Next stage of Pupils Membership and advice for future golf
